- Methylmercury is the form of mercury absorbed by the human body when it is exposed to medical supplies, building materials, dental "silver" fillings containing mercury, and food fish that contain mercury. Methylmercury exists in almost all fish in some amount.
- In a study published in 2005, a program called Project Olive ReLeaf treated 160 people who complained of serious symptoms from mercury poisoning. They reported digestive problems, severe respiratory issues, sleep disturbances, depression, weight gain, high blood pressure, anxiety, headaches and skin rashes. According to this study, after 90 days of treatment 85 percent showed an improvement of at least 60 percent of their symptoms.
