The Ford F-Series have been the best selling trucks in American for 27 straight years, according to ford.com. The 1998 Ford F-250 is sleek and strong, built to be a work and everyday driver. The pricing was equally as impressive with the regular cab, base model, MSRP coming in at $17,860 to the Lariat super cab with extended bed priced at $24,740. - The F-250 of 1998 came in five different trim styles, however the standard engine was a 4.6 liter V-8 with 220 horsepower at a maximum rpm of 4,500. It had a displacement of 4,601 cc and the bore and stroke were 90.2mm and 90mm. The engine had a compression ratio of 9. The maximum torque of 290 foot-pounds was acquired at 3250 rpm.
A 5.4 liter V-8 with 195 horsepower or 235 horsepower was an option depending on the upgrade package.
The 98 F-250 came standard with a five-speed manual transmission with overdrive, ABS brakes, a 3.31 to 1 axle ratio and a wishbone front suspension with stabilizer bar and a beam rear suspension. A four-speed automatic transmission was available as an option.
