- The National Endowment for the Arts gives grants to nonprofit organizations supporting the visual arts. Grants are for projects that support the development of individual artists, dialogue between artists, experimentation in the arts and arts education with publication, exhibitions, documentation and commissions. Visual arts grant categories include Access to Artistic Excellence and Arts on Radio and Television. Grant amounts vary from $5,000 to $200,000.
- The Florida Division of Cultural Affairs offers an Individual Artist Fellowship grant program. The grants recognize outstanding artists while offering them the opportunity to pursue artistic and career advancement. Six visual artists received the $5,000 Individual Artist Fellowship grant in 2010. The Florida Division of Cultural Affairs also makes grants to arts organizations.
- The Massachusetts Cultural Council offers Artist Fellowships at a time when many sources of funding for individual artists are reduced or discontinued. These competitive grants recognize exceptional work by Massachusetts artists with the intention of fostering the continued artistic development and careers of the recipients. The Artist Fellowship program gives $7,500 grants, with finalist awards of $500 recognizing exceptional work. The MCC sponsors grant programs for organizations as well.
