- 1). Pick one pear from the tree by holding the tree branch with one hand, and removing the pear by pulling down gently, and twisting the fruit at the stem with the other hand.
- 2). Cut a small piece from the pear with the knife by cutting away from your body, through the center of the pear. Examine the pear to make sure that the entire inside of the pear is one solid color. Taste the pear to make sure that it is slightly crisp on the outside, and juicy on the inside.
- 3). Store Asian pears for a week in room temperature, or keep them for up to three months when stored in a refrigerator.
