- 1). Place your antenna as close to a window as you can. Television signals become weaker as they travel through obstructions such as trees and walls. A glass window creates less resistance than brick and steel.
- 2). Place your antenna as high as you possibly can. The towers at your TV station that are sending out signals are high in the air. The higher you can get your antenna, the better your reception will be.
- 3). Extend the antenna "ears" as far as they can go.
- 4). Tilt your antenna toward the TV station's tower if you know the general direction of its location. The antenna "ears" should be tilted at roughly 30 degrees.
- 5). Practice trial and error if you don't know the location of your local stations' transmission towers. Keep the TV on, and rotate the antenna ears until you find the optimal direction.
