Like other marriages caught in the heart breaking reality of infidelity, one of two things will happen in the marriage of Kelly and Vance McAllister.
Whatever choice she makes, I do hope she takes her time in making the decision because this is time she can use to reflect on her marriage to see if there are other issues that the two of them need to recognize and deal with. Hopefully, through all this stress and pain, she will take care of herself.

Occupations:

2014 Marriage Crisis:
Vance McAllister expressed his belief in Christian family values often during his election campaign, so the news of his unfaithfulness came as a surprise to many.
In April 2014, a video surfaced that reportedly shows Vance and Melissa Anne Hixon Peacock kissing and embracing in December 2013.
Melissa Peacock was a member of McAllister's congressional staff until she resigned on April 7, 2014. McAllister and Heath Peacock, Melissa's husband, grew up in the same neighborhood, attended the same high school, and worked together for many years.
Heath Peacock: “I’m just freaking devastated by the whole deal, man. I loved my wife so much. I cannot believe this. I cannot freaking believe it. I feel like I’m going to wake up here in a minute and this is all going to be a bad nightmare ... He [Vance McAllister] has wrecked my life. We're headed for divorce."

Greta Van Susteren: "A mistake can truly be accidental -- trip over a crack in the sidewalk -- or a mistake can be done deliberately (kissing a staff member when you are married) that one calls a mistake but only after he is caught. Congressman McAllister didn't stumble upon the staff member in the dark and accidentally kiss her thinking it was his wife -- he sought the staffer out, thought about it, and made his move. That 'mistake' was deliberate. The acknowledgment it was wrong occurred after the video came out."

Quotes About the Marriage of Vance and Kelly McAllister:
Vance: "There's no doubt I've fallen short and I'm asking for forgiveness. I'm asking for forgiveness from God, my wife, my kids, my staff, and my constituents who elected me to serve ... I would just simply like to say that I'm very sorry for what I've done."

Rebecca Shabad: "McAllister told the local newspaper that he spoke to his wife of 16 years about his relationship with Peacock in late January or early February. Asked if it was his first infidelity, McAllister said 'absolutely.'"

- Kelly will make the difficult decision to forgive him, accept his apology, and give Vance a second chance. Their marriage relationship will then possibly survive the scandal of the video of his taking one of his congressional staffers in his arms for a passionate kiss.
- Or Kelly will tell Vance to take a hike.
Whatever choice she makes, I do hope she takes her time in making the decision because this is time she can use to reflect on her marriage to see if there are other issues that the two of them need to recognize and deal with. Hopefully, through all this stress and pain, she will take care of herself.
