With nifty glasses and special effects that seem to hover right over your lap, these 3D movies will entertain both you and your kids. Film studios have become more technologically advanced, so it seems as though all animated movies come with a pair of 3D glasses. Save those shades; you'll be using pretty often.

    "Up"

    • In 2009, Disney Animation Studios and the director of "MONSTERS INC" teamed up to make "Up," an animated feature film about a 78-year-old man, an 8-year-old Wilderness Explorer and talking dogs. This movie is one part love story, one part friendship story and two parts adventure. Your kids will enjoy the awesome nature and beautiful balloons that carry Carl, his house and Russell across the world.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs

    • Imagine a world where your favorite food fell from the sky, and you've got the plot of "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs." Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation teamed up to adapt this children's book into a 3D delight. Lockwood, a quirky inventor, is determined to create something that will make everyone's life better. You'll enjoy all of the colors, jokes and yummy, gigantic treats floating right before your very eyes.

    Alice in Wonderland

    • Disney revisits the story of the Lewis Carol's children's book. Though Disney's 3D "Alice in Wonderland" is not animated, your children will enjoy the bizarre costumes, and a sequel to the story that they are familiar with. A 19-year-old Alice goes back to Wonderland for another adventure.
