- 1). Scoop away any water standing over the drain.
- 2). Pour the drain cleaner of your choice into the drain according to the manufacturer's instructions. Or, for a more natural option, try pouring one cup of baking soda down the drain followed by one cup of vinegar.
- 3). Boil one gallon of water in a pot.
- 4). Grab the pot with pot holders and pour the still-boiling water down the drain.
- 5). Wait an hour or so for the drain to drain on its own. If it does not, repeat until the clog loosens.
