How To Live With Type 1 Diabetes – Sign, Symptoms and Tips

Diabetes is quite hard to treat and it can be a lifelong disease, especially if you failed to maintain or treat it. How will you avoid it? How will you know if you already have diabetes? How will you live with it and how to maintain normal the level of insulin? Let's talk about Diabetes' signs and symptoms, so that you are prepared and you know what to do. We will also give you tips on how to live with type 1 diabetes to help you or your family or friends who are suffering from diabetes.

What is diabetes?

Diabetes is a disease where your body cannot control the glucose that we get from the food that we eat. Glucose is one of the sources of energy for our body. After our meal or after we eat our body will digest, extract and turn it into glucose and other nutrient that our body needs. You glucose level will be high in a high level after you eat and it will signal your pancreas to make hormones or insulin. (Insulin is a hormone that lowers the glucose level in our blood) People with diabetes can't produce nor make enough insulin for the body, without insulin the glucose in our body can't pass to our bloodstream which will lead to high blood or high sugar level and we all know that is really bad and gives numbers of health problems.

What is type 1 diabetes?

Type 1 Diabetes is also known as Juvenile Diabetes or Insulin Dependent Diabetes which is fatal because the body or the immune system will destroy its own pancreas that produces insulin for the body. Studies show that anyone can have Type 1 Diabetes, so watch out your diet or your foods.  While Type 2 Diabetes is Non Insulin Diabetes, people in this condition or their body can still produce insulin but not enough for the body which makes the body weak.

Signs and Symptoms
  • Loses weight or having problems gaining weight. You will have good appetite, but you're not gaining any weight.
  • Often tired. Your body is not receiving enough glucose to power up your body.
  • Urinates and thirsty frequently – The kidney will react to the high glucose level by flushing glucose with urine and if you urinate frequently then you will feel thirsty most of the time because your body will feel dehydrated.

How to live with type 1 diabetes?
  • Balanced and Healthy Diet – Ask your doctor about the foods that you can eat. Let me just remind you, that there's a lot of foods that you need to avoid. It may sound harsh, but you have to let go of those cravings.
  • Be active – You need to keep your body going, you need to exercise at least three to four times a week because regular exercise can lower down or avoid other effect of diabetes.
  • Check your blood sugar levels – You should always take note of this, so that you will know when you will take medicine or the insulin.

Diabetes is a serious disease and this is something that we cannot avoid. This disease can attack anyone, so watch your diet and be active.
