- 1). Fully charge the iPod. Connect it to a computer or wall adapter until it is fully charged.
- 2). Restart the iPod. Simultaneously press "Menu" and play for 3 seconds until it reboots.
- 3). When the Apple logo appears, press the skip forward, skip backwards, "Menu" and center buttons simultaneously. The iPod will begin a fast-scan.
- 4). Wait until the scan is complete. The iPod will display either an icon with a check mark or an error message.
- 5). Restart the iPod if the disc check is positive. If there are disc errors, back up the data and take it to an Apple store for repair.
