Gluten Free - Migraine Free - My Journey

Although it hasn't been easy to follow a gluten free diet, the results are beginning to show and I'm grateful that this solution came into my knowledge and life.
Having struggled with headaches/migraines most of my adult years, I finally found a way of keeping them away or being able to manage the intensity and frequency.
When Dr.
Karp from Karp Wellness Center introduced me to this new type of routine I thought I was doomed to failure given its complexity and the extra effort it would require.
He would listen to my body through his weird counting and feeling technique and then applying acupuncture to the needed organs.
Slowly I started finding ways of being satisfied with my new diet and became an expert on how to find good gluten free products and started enjoying the benefits of this completely new lifestyle.
Besides being gluten free my doctor also added other exclusions during subsequent visits with deprived me from some "good stuff that I used to enjoy" like dairy, meats, eggs and wheat.
I have to admit that I stop asking for his permission to eat other types of food in case he would also include them into my "no" list.
However hard this might have seem at the beginning, little by little I got used to smart substitutions and became very conscious of what was helpful and what was harmful.
Being rewarded with better overall health and less migraine attacks helped a lot and I continued with less effort as the time went by.
It has been a bumpy road, with many hills and valleys; some discouragements also appear on the way and I have to admit that many times I was ready to quit and forget everything about the attempt.
But my decision to try until the very end and finalize the treatment kept me going, I was going to see the results after I was done and not if I quit before the treatment was over.
So, I stayed in the program and struggled and succeeded to overcome those difficult missteps.
Today I have included some of the "forbidden foods" back in my diet but with moderation and as exceptions and not as regulars.
I have not finished my treatment yet, and there are still some few health issues that have to emerge and be "peeled" from my organs and body with acupuncture and discipline.
But, the progress and outcomes are clear and conclusive that I am on the right track and path towards my full recovery.
My doctor is happy with the results and I continue seeing progress too! I guess this new strategy will continue to be my way of living.
My next step is to learn how to accept and enjoy what I eat, because if it makes you feel good, you also learn to like it...
