Preemployment Background Check

Are you looking at a stack of applications that all seem good and perhaps even a little too good? Or perhaps you have it narrowed it down to one or two potential hires but you want make sure everything they are telling you is true and not falsified.
Obviously calling references is a step you should take but you also know that these references might not tell you the whole truth.
Since this is the case a preemployment background check could be a useful tool in your business to get the whole truth on anyone you are considering for employment.
With the explosion of the internet and many public records now being scanned in electronically you can find just about anything you wish to know about someone you are considering hiring.
If you have their name it is often possible to verify their address and phone numbers.
However even more importantly you can see their criminal arrest records, local and national criminal records, convictions, and a host of other public information on them.
There are definitely many who will tell you the truth about their past but many will not because they desperately want employment.
So before you make you next hire or hand over the handling of money to an employee you owe it to yourself to find out who you are really dealing with.
With the advent of this technology you can see the complete picture of someone in just a few seconds without any special warrants or trips to the courthouse.
A productive new employee can definitely help any business expand and thrive, however the wrong hire can cost you and your company big time.
You owe it to yourself, your company, and to your employees to run a preemployment background check on those that you are looking to hire.
