How Do I Get My Computer Back to Normal Mode?

    Windows Vista

    • 1). Click on the "Windows" icon on the bottom left of your screen.

    • 2). Type "MSCONFIG" into the search bar at the bottom of the start menu and press "Enter."

    • 3). Click on the "Boot" tab on the System Configuration menu.

    • 4). Uncheck the box next to "Safe Boot." This will ensure the next time you boot your computer it will be in Normal Mode and not Safe Mode.

    • 5). Press "OK" to save the changes and close out of the menu.

    • 6). Reboot your computer. Do not press any keys on your keyboard until the computer has fully loaded.

    Windows XP

    • 1). Click the "Start" button on the bottom left corner of your desktop screen. Select "Run."

    • 2). Type "MSCONFIG" into the box and press enter to open the "System Configuration" menu.

    • 3). Click on the "BOOT.INI" tab on the top of the menu.

    • 4). Uncheck the box listed as /SAFEBOOT and press "OK."

    • 5). Restart your computer to exit Safe Mode and return to Normal Mode.
