- 1). Place a sheet of newspaper on a work surface. Remove the screw from the end of the soldering iron by the “T"-shaped tip with the Phillips screwdriver.
- 2). Clamp the jaws of the pliers around the base of the “T”-shaped tip. Pull the tip off the soldering iron.
- 3). Place one end of the silicone tube over the end of the air compressor hose. Apply bonding glue around the silicone tube where it meets the air compressor hose. Let the bonding glue set for three hours.
- 4). Clamp the jaws of the pliers against one side of the “T”-shaped tip. Twist the pliers to pull the plug out of the side of the “T”-shaped tip. Repeat this procedure on the other side of the tip.
- 5). Insert the free end of the silicone tube into one of the two holes vacated by a plug on the “T”-shaped tip. Apply bonding glue around the hole where it meets the silicone tube. Let the bonding glue set for three hours. Apply silicone paste around the silicone tube where it meets the hole. Let the silicone paste set for an hour.
- 6). Push a piece of steel wool into the other hole on the “T”-shaped tip.
- 7). Place one of the plugs from the “T”-shaped tip on the newspaper. Drill a hole in the center of the plug with the portable drill.
- 8). Apply bonding glue to the rim of the plug. Place the plug back into the hole that is now filled with steel wool. Let the bonding glue set for three hours.
- 9). Apply silicone paste around the plug where it meets the hole. Let the silicone paste set for an hour.

Place the “T”-shaped tip back onto the soldering iron. Reattach the screw. - 11
Turn on the air compressor. Hold the heat gun you have made by the soldering iron’s handle. Aim the hole in the plug at anything that is to be heated. Turn off the air compressor when done.
