• The Exotic was bred from American Shorthairs and Persians, according to Pet Query. As the breed developed, it was crossed with Persians more frequently and so acts much like a purebred Persian.

• The Exotic is considered a good family cat. The breed is laid-back, unassuming, loving and sociable without being overbearing.

• Exotics are a little more active than Persians and enjoy a good play session. Exotics have been known to be content with a toy for an hour or more.
