- 1). Shut down your laptop. Close the display panel, disconnect the power cable and place the laptop face down on a flat surface. Rotate the computer so the front edge is facing forward.
- 2). Slide the battery release button to the left to release the battery pack from the laptop. Remove the battery pack from its compartment in the lower left corner.
- 3). Remove the memory compartment's retaining screw and cover from the right side of the laptop's bottom. It is the only removable, plastic cover on the right side of the laptop.
- 4). Spread apart the retaining metal clips on each side of the visible RAM module. Tilt the module upward at a 45-degree angle. Pull the module out of the memory slot. This will reveal a second memory module. Repeat this step to remove the other module.
- 5). Place the new module inside the memory slot, while aligning the notch on the module with the notch inside the memory slot. Slide the module into the memory slot at an upward 30-degree angle. Press down on the module until the metal clips snap it into place. Repeat this for all RAM you install.
- 6). Replace the memory compartment's plastic cover and its single retaining screw. Replace the battery pack and place the laptop face up. Reconnect the power cable.
