- 1). Log on to the computer and turn your scanner on. Place the Word document face down on the scanner glass and open the scanner software.
- 2). Press the scan button on the scanner or scanning software and wait for the scan to begin. Confirm that the document looks good, then save it to your hard drive.
- 3). Open your OCR software and click on the "File" menu. Choose "Open" and browse to your scanned Word document.
- 4). Start the OCR scanning process and wait for that process to complete. Review the scanned document and make any changes you wish. Save the revised document when you are done making changes.
