- 1). Download and install the most recent version of Microsoft IntelliPoint or IntelliType software for the keyboard or mouse. (To do this, click the "Download Device Drivers" link in the Resource section).
- 2). Click "Start." Type "keyboard" in the search box.
- 3). Click "Keyboard" or "Microsoft Keyboard."
- 4). Click on the "Key Settings" tab.
- 5). Double-click the desired key. This opens the "Re-assign Key Wizard."
- 6). Choose the "Start a Program, Web page, or File" option. Click "Next."
- 7). Run the following command: rundll32.exe powrprof.dll ,SetSuspendState (make sure there are spaces before and after "powerprof.dll"). This should allow the selected key to start and stop Sleep Mode.
- 1). Push the "SLEEP" key.
- 2). Press any keyboard key.
- 3). Power down any Bluetooth devices, and try keyboard keys again. Enabling Bluetooth devices may prevent the keyboard from waking the computer.
- 4). Shake the mouse.
- 5). Press the power button quickly.
- 1). Click "Start." Type "keyboard" in the search box.
- 2). Click "Keyboard" or "Microsoft Keyboard."
- 3). Click the "Hardware" tab. Click "Properties."
- 4). Click "Change Settings." Click the "Power Management" tab.
- 5). Make sure "Allow this device to wake the computer" is enabled. Click "OK" twice.
