Upgrade From Windows Vista To Windows 7 Operating System

It is better to upgrade to Windows 7 operating system rather than get it installed in your system. The reason for this is that upgrading is much less expensive than getting a full installation done. It is also true that when you upgrade to an operating system from an existing one, the settings and files will be carried from your present operating system to the operating system you are upgrading to. If you are not very tech savvy and do not have the confidence to proceed on this, it is advisable you take the help of a PC support provider.

First, the user has to decide which Windows 7 version he/she wants to upgrade to. If you are already using the Windows Vista Premium or Home Basic, then you have no choice but to upgrade to Windows Vista Premium or Windows 7 Ultimate. If you are using the Windows Vista business operating system on your machine, you have to upgrade to Windows 7 Professional or Windows 7 Ultimate operating system. Get the right copy of the Windows 7 operating system depending on the Windows Vista operating system version you have.

Turn your internet connection and your computer system on. The upgrading of the Windows 7 operating system requires the internet for receiving updates during the process of installation. Never mind if you do not have the internet access, the Windows 7 installation can still work out. If there are any problems, opt for the computer services to offer you their help.

If you have ordered for the Windows 7 OS online, then you may double click on your downloaded file or you can position youre your installation disk in the CD-ROM tray. Make sure you have the windows product key handy; the product key is actually a code of 25 characters that is available inside the Windows disc pack. The product key can also come in a confirmation email in case you have ordered for Windows 7 online.

Now click on the option Install Now; the installation file open when prompted once. If your machine is connected to the internet, then you have to choose the option Get important updates for installation and start downloading the updates. You may have to skip the updates screen if you are not connected to the internet. You can go for a technical support provider to offer you their services.

Go through the Windows 7 licensing details and then after having read them and understood the information, select I accept the license terms and then select Next to go to the next screen. When you are asked for your type of installation, you must click on the Install button. Wait for a few minutes and let Windows 7 get installed in your system completely. Make up your mind not to power off your system during the course of installation. Once the installation is complete, you must restart your computer to let the operating system be effective. If something goes wrong, there are computer help services to assist you.
