I have been experiencing anxiety for more than 10 years, and throughout the duration there were a lot of times when I felt so depressed with my condition.
I notice that my fear increases when there is nobody at home with me.
Due to that, I come to a conclusion that I am afraid of being left alone.
Unfortunately, I don't have anybody at home and when my husband goes to work I will be left alone and just imagine how frightful it was for an anxiety sufferer like me.
Luckily that now I have joined a depression and anxiety support group so I am able to share my experiences and fears with those who understand my condition.
I learned that all the fears are not real at all and it came from my thoughts.
The thoughts have been programmed into my brain for so many years that I have been believing that they are real.
I was given a homework by the support group's adviser.
Whenever I feel anxious, write it down into a notebook.
Describe in detail about the feeling and how severe the level of anxiousness is.
Notice whether my hands were shaken and I should detect every type of emotions playing inside my mind during the moment.
Then, I was to ask myself why I was feeling that way.
I should also try challenging my rationale thoughts.
There were times when I was not anxious.
My adviser asked me to write down what I felt during these moments and describe it in full length.
She asked me to recall the peaceful moments every time the anxiety attacks again.
By doing this again and again, I am actually practicing myself into habitual routine where negative thoughts will be replaced with positive thoughts.
If you are suffering from anxiety, you can try doing this technique too.
You can't expect to be cured after an attempt or two, but with perseverance and consistently you will be able to overcome it soon.
