The purpose of golf camps is to allow students to improve their game with clinics, practice sessions and mental preparation. Often, these camps are provided to high school students looking to break into collegiate golf or to college students looking to prepare for national and international golf tournaments. Kentucky golf camps range from one day to a week and occur during the summer and winter. - Thoroughbred Links' Kentucky Golf Academy is a winter camp for high school golf students throughout the state of Kentucky. Students take clinics at Thoroughbred Links, an indoor golf center.
The camp lasts 2 1/2 hours and features three 45-minute sessions that focus on: full swing mechanics, putting/chipping and classroom time that covers a variety of golf themes, including recruiting, learning mental preparation and preparing for tournaments. There is an 18-participant limit with a 6 to 1 student/teacher ratio.

The weeklong summer camp is open to both boys and girls and features sessions focusing on improving the student's golf game and mental preparation. Students will practice on the Frances E. Miller Memorial Golf Course, which is a total of 6,592 yards and features several hills. Sessions, prices and times vary.

Goracers.com - The University of Kentucky has two coed summer camps for students ages 10 to 18. The Wildcat Golf Academy is a weeklong camp and is restricted to 40 participants. Students will be housed in the University of Kentucky dormitory.
The Wildcat Elite Academy is a day camp split into two sessions and is restricted to 15 participants per session. This camp is for students ages 13 to 18 who hope to play golf in college. Both camps provide students with a T-shirt, 12 Nike golf balls and additional golf items. Students must bring their own clubs.
The Wildcat Golf Academy includes skill instruction, intramural competitions, practice time, putting/chipping, mental preparation, swing instruction and analysis, golf rules and protocol and golf strategy. The Wildcat Elite Academy focuses on skill instructions, putting/chipping, bunker strategy, tournament prep, rules and protocol, practice sessions, mental preparation and swing instruction and analysis.
