- 1). Visit Microsoft's website (in the Resources section) to download the free Xbox 360 controller configuration software.
- 2). Run the configuration software once you finish downloading it. You'll first be prompted with a terms of agreement page.
- 3). Place a check in the box "I accept the agreement" and click "Next" to accept the Microsoft terms of agreement. This begins the configuration process.
- 4). Restart your computer if prompted. You may not have to restart your computer in every instance, according to Microsoft.
- 5). Plug your Xbox 360's USB plug-in into your computer's USB port. The Xbox 360 controller can be used with any compatible game. See your game's unique specifications to determine compatibility.
