Discovering how to increase blog traffic without spending a fortune used to be an all-time dilemma for me...
I've always been an advocate of increasing blog traffic using free strategies.
And, a year ago I was creating YouTube videos and practicing back-linking strategies to get my videos to rank.
It was actually getting to be pretty successful because my videos were ranking and I was almost getting 2 leads daily on a pretty steady basis.
Of course, this wasn't in any way teaching me how to increase blog traffic for my blog, but I did find a way to get my links noticed.
But then the Universe threw a monkey wrench at me...
Huh? What do I mean by that? Here's what happened...
It began with a retinal detachment on my left eye, leaving me half blind and ordered by the doctor not to read for a couple of weeks.
And this was just when I had learned a cool (but difficult) back-linking strategy for how to increase blog traffic using SEO...
I didn't think much of it because I figured I could just catch up with everything in a couple of weeks.
Much to my dismay, I discovered everything I looked at was blurry for months to come.
At least I could still create videos and backlink later, I thought.
But then my YouTube account was shut down, and all my leads came to a screeching halt! Almost simultaneously, my computer crashed with all my data and along with my back-linking software.
Ugh! Was the Universe conspiring against me just when I had finally learned how to increase blog traffic? Fortunately, my husband gave me a computer for Christmas - but, (not to be unappreciative or anything)...
it was a computer with Windows 8! Now I had yet another learning curve to overcome.
Just when I was ready to throw in the towel, my sponsor told me about a new team that was forming to help everyone learn how to market online.
One of their favorite strategies teaches how to increase blog traffic through the use of Facebook.
Now, up until this point, I avoided Facebook like the plague - figured it was just for kids.
But I do believe everything happens for a purpose, and, through the reading of Deepak Chopra's book, "The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success", I realized that it would benefit me to remain open-minded enough to learn something new.
So I decided to hang up on my ego-driven SEO knowledge (that now wasn't working as well since the Penguin - just one more frickin nudge from the Universe!) Have you ever been forced to take a completely different direction after spending a lot of time learning and practicing a single strategy for a long time? You can imagine how frustrating it was...
But the idea of giving up was not in my psyche.
The thing is that success with learning how to increase blog traffic and get your site notice will come with time no matter what you do as long as you stay persistent and open to learning new techniques as the times change.
Looking back, I see it now as a total blessing because the new strategy I've recently learned not only is doubling my lead flow for free, but it's way easier to teach! A year ago, I used to hope nobody would ask me how to market online because the strategy I used was very complicated and boring...
So, thank you, Universe - for steering me towards a fun and profitable way of how to market online! And I've now learned how to increase blog traffic to my blog, not just my videos - and I sometimes get as many as 24 "likes" as soon as I submit my post!
