- 1). Make a list of traits about yourself. The longer the list, the more you will have to choose from. Stay positive and include things other people have told you about yourself. Add your passions, great accomplishments and life goals to the list. Focus on things that separate you from the masses of desperate men on the dating sites.
- 2). Make a new document with the traits you want to include in your profile. Rewrite the traits with compelling and interesting details. Don't say, "I love to cook." Say, "My favorite gourmet dish to prepare is a sumptuous four cheese and organic ground buffalo meat lasagna with a raw cashew strawberry cheesecake for dessert." Rewrite each of the traits with as much detail as you can. Reread the new list of detailed traits. If any of them seem dry or boring, spice them up with details and humor. Don't write, "I am very confident." Write, "I did a solo 10-day camping, hiking, and mountain climbing trip in the Rockies."
- 3). Write a list of the things you are looking for in a mate or a date. Include as many specific details as you can about what you want in a partner. Spend the time and energy to get clear about exactly what you want. This will save you time and effort when deciding if your date is a good match for you.
- 4). Write a killer title and opening sentence that leads into your detailed list of traits, passions, goals and what you are looking for in a partner. Get the reader's attention and keep it. Spend as much time as you need to create an attention grabbing title and opening line.
- 5). Remove all negative statements about yourself, including anything that makes you sound desperate or insecure. Look for weak spots in the profile and remove or rewrite them. If you have any doubt about the quality of a sentence, remove it. Stick to strong, compelling material for your profile.
- 6). Have a male friend read your profile and make suggestions. You buddies will let you know if you sound like a loser in your profile. It's better to hear it from them and make changes than to come off as a loser to all the women viewing your live profile online.
- 7). Have a woman friend you trust read your profile and make adjustments according to her reactions. Ask women friends who you find attractive to read your profile and give you advice. Take their advice and make changes accordingly.
- 8). Include a recent picture that makes you look decent. Don't choose a picture that looks nothing like how you appear in person. Even if your writing is as compelling as Stephen King's, you must include a photo to get people to read your profile. Spending five minutes stretching your face before having your photo taken will depict a more fresh and organic look. Be sure to stretch your face again before meeting up with your dates. You'll be amazed at how much more clearly you will perceive and be perceived by your new prospective partner.
