- 1). Direct the heat gun or blow dryer, at the lowest setting, on the vinyl letters. Work in sections, and heat the letters until they can be easily pulled away from the wall. Use tweezers to pull a corner of the letter up from the wall.
- 2). Use a spatula, the tool that is packaged with the Cricut, or a plastic putty spatula to loosen the letters. You can also use a razor blade, but be careful not you cut yourself or gouge the wall.
- 3). Pull the letters off the wall slowly, using a downward motion. Try to remove each letter or word in one piece, to avoid having to go back and remove tiny pieces of vinyl. Reheat the vinyl as necessary to keep the adhesive pliable.
- 4). Saturate a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol. Wipe the cotton over the wall to remove any remaining adhesive. You can also use a kneaded rubber eraser, available in the fine art supply section of any crafts retailer, to remove any large sections of adhesive. Gently rub the eraser over the adhesive until it's gone.
- 5). Complete any repairs. If the letters have been on the wall for some time, you may notice that the wall has faded around them. Wash the wall thoroughly, and touch up the area with paint.
