- 1). Type your name and contact information like you would on an envelope. This should be located in the top left corner of your resume. Include your full name, street address, city, state, zip code, phone number and email address. Once complete, press the "Enter" key twice.
- 2). Type "Objective" in bold. Press the "Enter" key twice and then turn off the bold function. Write one to two sentences about why you're applying for a job at a burger company. Possible reasons include, "To gain experience working in the food industry" or "To apply my culinary and hospitality skills to a growing field." This is a chance to share your interest in working at a burger company and to show your dedication to a career in the food or hospitality industry. Press the "Enter" key twice when finished.
- 3). Type "Summary" in bold. Press the "Enter" key twice and turn off the bold function. In this section, use bullet points and highlight three to five items that sum up your qualifications for a burger company position. For example, "Two years head chef experience" or "Six years managerial experience at a major restaurant chain." Tailor these items as much as possible to the requirements and duties of the position that you're applying for. Press the "Enter" key twice after you've finished with this section.
- 4). Type "Experience" in bold. Press the "Enter" key twice. List each job you've had chronologically, starting with the most recent job and working your way backward. For each job, write the company name in bold, the city and state where it's located and the time you worked there (for example: January, 2001 to April, 2003). Turn off the bold function and press the "Enter" key twice. Write a brief summary of what you did while at the job. Mention duties that show extra effort and accomplishments. Match your duties to the responsibilities at a burger company, such as leadership and food expertise. Press the "Enter" key twice and then repeat this same process for each job. Press the "Enter" key twice when completely done with the "Experience" section.
- 5). Type "Education" in bold. Press the "Enter" key twice and turn off the bold function. List the education you've had since high school. Be sure to mention the institute name (for example, University of Arkansas), date of graduation (for example, 2008), and the degree or certification that you received (for example, Bachelor of Science in Culinary Arts). Mention any additional training, seminars, certifications, classes and other educational courses that you've completed, especially those related to the food industry.
