- 1). Hold the faceplate of the skimmer up to the inside of the pool lining and determine where you want to install it.
- 2). Lower the water level of the pool until it is just below where the bottom of the skimmer will be, using a pump.
- 3). Make a mark by each of the screw holes in the faceplate on the lining with a marker.
- 4). Puncture each mark in the lining to allow the screws to go in easily, using the tip of a sharp knife.
- 5). Lay the included gasket on the interior side of the faceplate so that it fits into place securely. Press the faceplate against the liner, with the gasket facing the liner.
- 6). Insert a screw into each of the four corners. These will hold the faceplate on the liner.
- 7). Hold up the skimmer mechanism to the side of the pool where you see the screw sticking out. Attach the skimmer to the faceplate by tightening the screws with a screwdriver.
- 8). Insert screws into the remaining holes in the faceplate and tighten to secure the skimmer in place.
- 9). Cut out the piece of pool liner within the faceplate. Use a sharp razor knife and cut around the inside edge of the faceplate until the liner comes away and the skimmer is exposed.
