- 1). Make a slip knot in your yarn and slide this loop over the first peg of your loom.
- 2). Bring the yarn attached to the skein -- the working yarn -- around to the inside of your loom. Wrap it around your next peg by carrying it around the far side of the next peg, around the outside of the loom and back to the inside of the loom between the first and second pegs, making a cursive "e" with the yarn when viewed from inside the loom.
- 3). E-wrap all the pegs you need for your project. If you're working a flat project, such as a scarf, you'll begin your e-wrap cast-on the last peg you need to work and then knitting back. If you're working in the round, you'll e-wrap in the same direction you're knitting, in a clockwise direction around the loom.
- 1). Tie a slip knot in the end of your yarn leaving a short tail, no longer than five inches. Slide the loop on your first peg.
- 2). E-wrap all the pegs you need for your project -- either all you'll need to work it flat or the entire loom for in the round knitting -- then slide your finger a further five to six inches beyond that point. Make a loop in the yarn at that point and wrap it around your finger. Unwrap all your pegs, still holding the loop of yarn on your finger.
- 3). Make a slip knot at the point you've wrapped around your finger and slide the loop on the first peg of your circular project or the last peg of any project you're knitting flat. Hang the tail on the outside of your loom while the working yarn is to the inside.
- 4). E-wrap your loom with the working yarn. E-wrap the loom a second time, this time using the tail of yarn hanging to the outside of your loom, giving you two loops on your pegs. Knit your pegs, lifting the bottom loop over the top and over the peg, dropping it to the inside of the loom. Continue knitting using your working yarn.
- 1). Make a slip knot at the end of your yarn and slide it over the first peg on your loom, draping the working yarn to its outside.
- 2). Turn your loom so you're looking over the inside of it with the first peg on the far side of the circle from you. Slip your crochet hook through the loop on the first peg, hook the working yarn and pull it through the loop. Slide this loop on the second peg.
- 3). Continue around, pulling your loop through the last newly made stitch, until you've cast-on enough pegs for your project. If you're knitting a flat project, e-wrap the last peg cast-on.
- 4). Turn your loom so you're looking at the outside of your newly cast-on stitches. There will be two loops on each peg when viewed from the front. Knit each peg, leaving you with one loop. Continue knitting as called for in your pattern.
