I found this campground when Devil's Lake was full. I tent camped there in July 2007.
Describe your camping trip:
Mirror Lake is laid out in such a fashion that the campsites are staggered so that the vast majority of campsites do not face other campsites. Almost every campsite at the state park faces trees, lending a wonderful feeling of seclusion to the camping experience.
Pros: This state park has many hiking/bike trails and its own lake with swim beach and boat ramp, but it is very close to Devil's Lake State Park and to the eateries and attractions at the Wisconsin Dells (without any of the noise or hustle of the Dells).
Cons: The campers next to us were noisy, but they finally quieted down at 11 pm. We could have been more forthright and asked them to be quiet, but we didn't want the conflict, so it was our fault in a way.
Nearby attractions: The Wisconsin Dells with the water parks and water attractions, the souvenir shops, the restaurants, and any other money-making venture you can think of is 3 miles away. Devil's Lake State Park, which is really spectacular, is also in the Baraboo area.
Further comments:
My family has made this our 1st choice SE WI destination campground. But for those of you that are a bit harder to sell, make this your first alternative when Devil's Lake or Rocky Arbor is sold out.
