- 1). Transfer the pattern to the tile by tracing with the wax crayon or pencil.
- 2). Place the tile on the non-slip surface.
- 3). Put on protective eye wear and the dust mask to protect your eyes from flying debris and your lungs from the dust created by the engraving tool.
- 4). If your rotary tool instructions do not prohibit it, place a few drops of water on the surface of the tile to prevent it from getting too hot.
- 5). Slowly use your rotary tool to make the pattern in your tile. Work from the outside edges of the pattern toward the middle. The faster the rotary tool goes, the more precise the cut on the tile.
- 6). Once cool, rinse the tile and let it dry completely before laying it with the other tiles on your surface.
