Foods You Need To Know That Are Dangerous To Dogs

Many people like to give their dogs table scraps, especially when their dog looks at them with a pleading face.
We want to make them happy, but there are a lot of people food that is harmful, that can make them sick or even be fatal.
Even if you don't intentionally feed your dog human food, it's important to know which foods are dangerous for them.
You will want to make sure they can't reach or get to these in any way.
Many people are unaware of all the foods that are harmful to dogs.
Knowing what foods are harmful is another step to keeping your dog healthy and safe.
This is a long list of foods that are dangerous to dogs, but it may not be complete, it's a good idea to do research or talk to your veterinarian before giving your dog any human food.
This is a list of foods most commonly known to be harmful to dogs: Chocolate and Cocoa Grapes and raisins Onions and to a lesser extent garlic, chives Nuts, especially Almonds, Macadamias and Walnuts Alcoholic beverages Hops, the plant used to make common beer Caffeine Xylitol, a sugar-free sweetener most often found in chewing gum and candy Apple seeds, cherry pits, peach pits and plum pits contain the toxin cyanide Leaves, fruit, seeds and bark of avocados Dairy products may be difficult for dogs to digest Corn cobs and bones can cause GI obstruction Tomato plants Fat trimmings Raw meat and fish Salt Yeast dough Baking soda and baking powder Mushrooms Baby food Cat food Mustard seeds Potato leaves and stems (green parts) Rhubarb leaves It can be hard to remember every food that is harmful so, it may be a good idea to keep a list of them in your kitchen or somewhere easy to find, especially if you are inclined to feed your dog human food.
If your dog tends to get in the trash, make sure you keep it in a room where they can't get to it or keep a tight lid on it that they can't get open.
Make sure others in your household, especially children, know not to feed your dog any of these foods.
If your dog eats any of these foods contact your Veterinarian or an emergency veterinary hospital to find out what to do.
