- 1). Remove the screws and open the access panel on the back of the dryer to expose the terminal block.
- 2). Remove the locknut from the strain-relief bracket provided with your dryer cord. Slide the threaded end of the strain-relief bracket through the round hole located beneath the access panel opening. Screw the locknut to the threads of the strain-relief bracket, clamping it to the body of the dryer.
- 3). Thread the three-wire or four-wire dryer cord through the strain-relief bracket. Attach the center neutral wire (white) from the cord to the center screw on the terminal block.
- 4). Attach the left or right hot wire (black) to the left or right screw on the terminal block. Attach the left or right hot wire (red) to the remaining screw on the terminal block. If attaching a four-wire cord, attach the remaining ground wire (green) to the green ground screw located on the body of the dryer.
- 5). Tighten the screws on the strain relief bracket to secure the dryer cord to the body of the dryer and prevent it from accidentally pulling from the dryer. Replace the access panel onto the back of the dryer.
