Polyurethane Finish & Polyurethane Molding - 7 Secret Tips and Uses

If you are after polyurethane finish to achieve the greatest looking finish then you must keep the following tips in your mind.
  1. Seal the place on which you are going to apply polyurethane.
Dust is not good for the perfect finish.
    Clean the area thoroughly.
This will ensure that there are not any dust particles around.
If there are some dust particles then there will be some dust marks on the finished product.
  2. However, the specific area must be properly ventilated.
You can open the doors and windows.
Ensure that you get adequate fresh air while applying polyurethane finish.
If during application you feel dizziness or light headed it is better to walk out in the lawn for few minutes.
  3. Use lint free cloth and mineral spirit for cleaning the surface before applying polyurethane finish.
You just have to ensure that all dust and dirt has been completely removed before applying finish.
  4. Brush is used for application.
Just use a small product on brush at one time.
Use only even strokes and go just one way.
Never apply too much polyurethane at one time.
  5. When you are going to use the product never shake it.
First open the can and then stir it with the help of stick.
Just ensure that bottom of the paint is also stirred very well.
Never shake as this will cause some bubbles in the product.
  6. While applying polyurethane finish pay closest attention to minute details.
    Catch the drips with brush.
Before applying second coat let the first coating dry completely.
For second application, long one way strokes are the best.
  7. The drying process requires at least 24 hours.
