How to Use Your iTouch as a Monitor

    • 1). Download and install the SideMonitor software on your computer (see Resources).

    • 2). Double-click the icon that says "SideMonitor_setup.exe" to begin installing the software. Follow the on-screen prompts to finish the installation. A new icon resembling an iPod touch should appear in the bottom right-hand corner of your computer screen.

    • 3). Open the "App Store" on your iPod Touch and click the "Search" icon at the bottom. Type "SideMonitor" into the search bar. Purchase the "SideMonitor" app and wait momentarily for it to install.

    • 4). Navigate back to your computer and hover your mouse over the SideMonitor icon (located in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen). This will reveal your IP address.

    • 5). Open the SideMonitor app on your iTouch. Type your IP address into the space that says "Connect To" and then click the blue arrow to connect your device to your computer. Your iTouch should now be connected to your computer, and should be acting as a second monitor.

    • 6). Navigate back to your computer and right-click the SideMonitor icon. Hover your mouse over the "Screen" option, followed by the "Style" option. From here, you can choose to have your iTouch display a static view of your monitor, follow your computer's mouse or show a full-screen view of the monitor.
