- 1). Turn the weed gun to the “Off” position.
- 2). Place the gas supply hose on the weed gun on a propane tank. Screw the gas hose hand-tight counterclockwise to tighten on the propane tank nipple. Tighten fully with adjustable pliers.
- 3). Turn the valve on top of the propane cylinder counterclockwise slowly to open the valve. This allows flow through the gas hose to the weed gun.
- 4). Grasp the flame-adjusting valve with one hand and turn it 1/8 turn counterclockwise. This allows gas to flow to the end of the weed gun.
- 5). Hold the weed gun wand in one hand and strike a flint lighter with the other hand in front of the wand. Squeeze the two handles of the flint lighter together to emit a spark directly in front of the weed gun tip. The spark will ignite the flame on the weed gun tip.
- 6). Turn the flame-adjusting valve counterclockwise to increase the length and intensity of the flame for large, thick weeds in a pasture or large area.
- 7). Turn the flame-adjusting valve clockwise to obtain a shorter, less intense flame for a small area along fence lines, driveways and in narrow pathways.
- 8). Direct the flame from the end of the weed gun on any weeds or small bushes to burn them and destroy them.
- 9). Turn the flame-adjusting valve completely clockwise to stop the flow of gas after use.
