- 1). Log on to your PC server with an account that has administrative privileges.
- 2). Open the Start menu, go into the "Administrative Tools" folder and select "Group Policy Management."
- 3). Right-click on your primary security policy from the list of policies on the left side of the window and choose "Edit." A new window will open that allows you to configure specific parts of your security policy.
- 4). Expand the "Administrative Templates" folder underneath the "User Configuration" heading.
- 5). Double-click on the folder labeled "Windows Components."
- 6). Highlight the "Windows Explorer" folder to view a list of security configurations for that program.
- 7). Find the setting labeled "Prevent access to drives from My Computer" and then double-click on it.
- 8). Click on the radio button next to "Disabled" and click "OK" to save the setting. Users will now be able to access all local drives via the My Computer window.
