- 1). Run a piece of yarn through the holes at each end until you reach the slat at the desired length. Close the mini-blinds and tie the string ends together. Remove the mini-blinds from the window.
- 2). Lay the mini-blinds on a flat surface so you can easily work.
- 3). Pop the plastic string caps off the bottom of the mini-blinds, using a screwdriver. Untie the knots and slide the bottom rail off the mini-blinds and set it aside.
- 4). Pull the side strings through the holes in the slats you are removing and slide them out of the system. Cut the slat holder strings for each section with scissors, leaving one extra support loop to pull through the bottom rail.
- 5). Place the mini-blinds back into the brackets. Cut the yarn and open the blinds to full length in the window.
- 6). Slide the strings back through the holes. Tie a knot under the bottom rail with the strings, and cut away the excess string. Replace the plastic caps to hold the strings.
