- 1). Wait for the indicator light to come on. Your Oreck XL air purifier has a sensor that will trigger the indicator light whenever the filter needs to be cleaned.
- 2). Slide back the cover of the air purifier and lift it off.
- 3). Lift out the Truman cell. The Truman cell is a series of metal slats and is the portion of the machine responsible for trapping dust and impurities in the air.
- 4). Mix a solution of warm water and liquid dish soap into a bowl.
- 5). Sit the Truman cell in your sink. Slowly pour the soap and water solution over the Truman cell, making sure that each metal slat is rinsed out.
- 6). Sit the Truman cell on a paper towel or dish cloth to dry. Allow it to dry for a minimum of 24 hours before replacing it in the machine.
