How Do Toxins Affect the Body"s Ability to Lose Weight?

Have you ever thought about the chemicals and pollutants that enter our body each day? Probably not as you we can't see them.
After all, when you drink too much alcohol, eat too much sugar or rely on caffeine all day, you know you're not doing your body any favours as the effects are obvious: you feel sluggish with no energy and your jeans are starting to feel a bit tighter than usual.
Pollutants however don't work in the same way as most of us can't tell if we're taken in too many pesticides.
Every day we expose ourselves to toxins, found in the air that we breathe, the toiletries we use and everyday household products.
Some of us may experience some kind of chemical sensitivity to these products, creating common symptoms such as fatigue, rashes, joint pain and headaches that most us blame on some other element in our life.
So how do toxins after the body's ability to lose weight? OK let's start with the liver.
The liver is responsible for breaking down fat cells into sugar in which our muscles use to function on.
This process can never stop but it can be affected by the lymphatic system.
The Lymphatic system is our human drainage system which sits underneath our fat cells.
It is responsible for excreting toxins through perspiration, urination, bowls and breathing, but when these toxins are not excreted they are stored within the lymph nodes - areas within the lymphatic system.
However our lymph nodes only have a limited capacity and can only hold so many toxins so when they start to overflow they come to contact with our fat cells.
When this happens your body sends water to this area as it needs those fat cells for the liver to convert them into energy! (Just like when your body sends blood to a broken wound) This is when the problem occurs - as when the liver releases the hormone to break down fat, it can't access the fat because of the toxic and water build up in that area.
So what happens?...
it will break down the fat in other areas which may be your face, lower legs and arms, resulting in a slower metabolism and greater frustration.
So what can we do? Start by using alkaline ingredients on your skin which will start neutralising toxins, reduce your exposure to chemical heavy products and switch to green cleaners instead.
