How to Enable the Infrared Port on the DV6105US

    • 1). Click the "Start" button in Windows XP and select "Control Panel." Double-click "Device Manager."

      Click the "Windows" logo button in Vista and Windows 7 and type "Device" in the search box. Press "Enter," then click "Device Manager" from the results area.

      Click "Continue" if Windows asks for your permission.

    • 2). Click the "+" sign next to "Infrared Devices" and double-click your infrared port.

    • 3). Click the "Driver" tab, then click "Enable." Click "Yes" in the popup window and click "Continue" if Windows requests your permission. The infrared port is now enabled on your HP Pavilion dv6105us Notebook PC.
