- 1). Paint clothespins according to the gender of the baby. If it's unknown then choose a neutral color. Be sure to paint the inside and outside of the pins.
- 2). Find a basic white piece of cotton fabric. With a ruler and pencil mark out a triangle with three 3-inch long sides. Cut out the fabric triangle. Repeat this step until the number of triangles equals the number of clothespins.
- 3). For each triangle, lay out the fabric so one point is pointed directly at you. Fold this bottom point upward and dab a bit of fabric glue on the inside. Hold the edge down so you have a flattened line instead of a point.
- 4). For each triangle, bring the two points on the side in toward the center to meet the piece you folded. Glue these in place. You now have a cloth diaper.
- 5). Type the baby's name or a phrase for the mom-to-be on the computer such as "Baby John" or "Christy's Baby Shower." Print these out on very thin strips of paper and cut out.
- 6). Take a miniature safety pin and pin it through the paper strip and to the diaper. Repeat for each diaper.
- 7). Glue each diaper onto a clothespin. Hold down firmly so it sticks.
