LED stands for "light-emitting diode." They are very tiny semiconductor diodes that have the capability to produce light. It may form any shade of light and may be ultraviolet or infrared. Generally, there are various types of them that include miniature, high powered and multicolor as well.
How do they function?
Similar to standard light bulb, LED works just like them. The only difference is that LEDs are smaller and have no filament. In order to produce light, there is electricity movement along its semiconductor. Then the movement of the electrons forms an electromagnetic radiation that enables humans to see a visible light.
Varieties of Applications:
The use of these bulbs is already seen in many applications, although there are still that are under the process of implementation. They are present in screen displays, computers, traffic lights, brake lights and any other electronic application that requires an inexpensive, bright and long-lasting light.
