Infertility Research - IVF Treatments Extremely Successful

Infertility research has shown that infertility has become an increasing concern all over the world.
It is indeed one of the most common issues that couples deal with in this fast paced world of ours.
Infertility problems have always existed.
However, there were very few couples that would speak about the problem due to the social stigma associated with this medical condition.
Also, people didn't have as much faith and belief in medical science as they have today.
Due to the increased stress factors and anxiety in today's fast paced world, people are now experiencing different physical constraints and infertility is on the rise.
There are many couples trying to have a baby, but they have failed for one reason or another.
The reason could be related to female infertility, male infertility, or a combination of both.
It is also possible that there is an unknown explanation.
Although the problems are real there is usually some good news for most couples.
A large majority of infertility cases are treatable, either naturally or medically.
Although it is not usually the first option, there is one treatment that has been highly successful.
That treatment is IVF or In Vitro Fertilization.
IVF is a unique reproduction technique in which the egg cells are fertilized outside of the womb.
The procedure is carried out in a vitro or glass (laboratory dish).
The male sperm and the female egg are manually combined and fertilized producing a viable embryo.
After the fertilization is completed, the embryo is placed back into the female's uterus.
IVF is sometimes a last resort alternative for couples with specific infertility problems.
An infertility specialist will usually place multiple embryos back in the womb, which may lead to multiple births.
The reason for the use of multiple embryos may be related to either cost associated with the procedure or the specialist's interest in building a higher success rate for his/her practice.
Multiple births are the number one risk associated with this form of infertility treatment.
Multiple births usually create a premature delivery, which in turn may be stressful on the unborn babies as well as the mom.
Infertility is caused due to various reasons as stated before, and sometimes without any diagnosable reason as well.
IVF infertility treatment is a complicated and very expensive procedure that may or may not be covered by your insurance.
This procedure is usually not recommended unless the couple has tried all other options available to conceive naturally.
IVF is not for everyone; there is an eligibility criterion that is used to determine who the best candidates are for this procedure.
Those who are excluded from this treatment include women over the age of 40, women that have a damaged uterus and men who do not have potent sperm.
IVF infertility treatment is 5-step process.
Here are the different steps: 1.
Super ovulation (Ovarian stimulation) 2.
Egg retrieval 3.
Fertilization 4.
Embryo culture (Selection of embryo quality) 5.
Embryo transfer These five steps are followed categorically one after the other to achieve the desired result, which is pregnancy.
IVF is a difficult procedure and should be carried out by a highly qualified infertility specialist.
Work with your OB/GYN to get a referral before choosing the best specialist for you.
Do your homework and make sure that you get a list of referrals that you can contact to get feedback from former clients.
Not only are you about to spend a large amount of money but also the health concerns of your unborn child and yourself is at stack.
Once you have found a specialist make sure that your OB/GYN councils with the specialist about your case.
I don't want to scare you, however since IVF has become so popular there are some scams being inflicted on unsuspecting couples.
Do your research and make sure you have your OB/GYN involved in the selection process.
