Scope of Training

• Certified payroll training covers a wide range of payroll concepts, from the essential to the advanced. The basic course, which is designed for those new to payroll, discusses payroll procedures, processes and terminology. More-advanced courses include complex payroll functions and regulations, payroll audit, legal issues and taxation.
  
  

Training Providers

• The APA offers classroom sessions at its learning centers in Las Vegas, Nevada, and San Antonio, Texas. It also conducts training in major cities across the U.S. in partnership with more than 60 colleges and universities. The APA has a list of approved third-party education providers that offer the same courses nationwide.
  
  

Types of Training

• Training participants can attend two- to three-day, instructor-led classroom sessions or instructor-assisted online modules. Those who prefer self-directed learning can take advantage of webinars, audio seminars and web-based training.
