Dynacleine is administered at a dose of 2ml per 50 kilograms of body weight. Horses range between about 200kg and 800kg depending on breed, age and size, so a typical Dynacleine dosage would be in the range of 8ml to 32ml for a horse. If used for greyhounds, the dosage would be much smaller due to the dog's lower body weight. The side effects of Dynacleine do not increase with dosage size, as there are no known health hazards associated with a larger dose or ingestion of Dynacleine, according to Vetsearch International.

Injecting Dynacleine is reported to be relatively painful, creating a powerful stinging sensation in the area injected. Because it can be administered directly into the injured muscle, the pain of the injection may be amplified due to injecting an area that is already sore.

Because of the possibility of Dynacleine causing skin irritation to either the animal being injected or the person administering the injection, it is recommended that elbow-length gloves be worn when administering Dynacleine to an animal. Also, the animal should be monitored for any possible skin rash as a side effect of the injection. In general, there are no other known side effects of Dynacleine. The Dynacleine Material Safety Sheet indicates that the product is not considered to be harmful in short-term skin contact, inhalation, eye contact or ingestion. No significant ingredient of Dynacleine is classified as carcinogenic. One possible side effect from repeated usage of Dynacleine could be tissue damage from the entry of the needle. This side effect can be minimized by using the smallest gauge needle possible for injection. If severe side effects or an allergic reaction are apparent, seek veterinary help.

Dynacleine is neither intended nor approved for use in humans, although of course a substance that increases muscle function, stamina and healing is of interest to some bodybuilders and other athletes. Pain at the injection site is the major reported side effect in humans, with a jittery feeling also reported. Distributors of Dynacleine will not sell the product to individuals suspected of non-veterinary use, and may ask to see horse registration papers as proof that a buyer is a horse owner.
