- 1). Locate the hole in your tent. Determine how long it is, as you need to cut the patch as long and wide as the hole is to fix it.
- 2). Cut a piece of tent canvas or cloth repair tape as big as the hole plus 1 or 2 inches. The extra inches allow you room to attach the canvas to the tent.
- 3). Stitch the patch onto the tent. Make the stitches short and close together to reinforce the seams.
- 4). Use duct tape if you don't have a needle and thread handy. Seal all four sides. Make sure the overlap is on the outside of the tent. For added coverage, you can apply another patch to the inside of the tent.
- 5). Seal the tent with waterproofing spray. This can help if it happens to rain while you're inside the tent.
