A 'single malt whiskey' crafted in the tradition of Scotch, Colkegan hails from New Mexico and therefore cannot be called a true Scotch. However, in the 2014 Readers' Choice Awards, it was voted Best Scotch Whisky. It has many devoted fans, which should be an indication that it is worth trying and this drink is a fantastic example of what it can do when mixed.

There are a few drinks floating around that take the name of Scotch Lassie (see another one here) and each of them vary in almost every ingredient beyond the whiskey (it is a great name for a Scotch cocktail). This one was developed by Santa Fe Spirits to show off Colkegan.

This Scotch Lassie uses the distillery's favorite aromatic bitters and ginger beer and if you have yet to try any of the three ingredients, this is an opportunity you will not want to miss. It is a refreshing, snappy highball with perfect balance and perfect for any occasion.
