Are you searching for answers that will really bring relief from your menopausal or post-menopausal weight gain? I see lots of women who are dieting and starving themselves and can't seem to lose this menopausal weight and they're frustrated.
I know about all the confusing information out there on diet and exercise - and I know what has worked for me and for my clients.
Relief is on the way! During peri-menopause, menopause and post-menopause, many women gain weight even when they're not eating any more than they did previously.
This is due to the depletion of Estrogen levels in our bodies.
Suddenly, everything that we put into our mouths goes straight to our middles - as if we plastered it right on there! It's because our body thinks we need to store up fat so that this fat can manufacture the Estrogen that our ovaries no longer can.
Here's a tip that will help.
Push-ups have become the new jogging, just like 60 is the new 40! We Baby Boomers are changing everything around us, including how to keep fit and active well into our 90's.
Fewer people are jogging along Main Street these days because we're all at home doing push-ups.
Push- ups use the weight of our body for strength training, can be done anywhere, and best of all, they build lean muscle, which burns more calories than fat.
According to our favorite sexy doctor, Dr.
Oz, lean muscle burns twelve times more calories than fat - so, drop down and give me ten - or 5 or 2! It doesn't matter how many you can do right now.
The idea here is that if you make it a new daily habit to add some push-ups your routine day, you'll build muscle that will burn up more of those calories and help you get rid of that weight gained during menopause and post-menopause.
As time goes on you'll be able to do more and more of them.
Push-ups are a great way to jump start your metabolism.
I love push-ups because anyone can do them in some form - there are easy ways to modify them.
You can do knee push-ups, or lift your butt up into the air a little to protect your lower back, or if you have wrist issues you can do forearm push-ups or use a folded towel under your palms with your fingers curled off the edge of the towel to take some of the pressure off your wrists.
I recommend doing as many as you can every day until you can work your way up to 20 push-ups in a row.
They can be done while you're catching up with the news, checking on tomorrow's weather, or watching Dancing With The Stars.
Don't' forget to let me know when you're ready for more simple solutions just like this one and I'll be happy to help you find relief for that annoying menopausal and post-menopausal weight gain! Best of Health, Kathi
