- 1). Open your headscarf completely so that there are no folds in the fabric. Place the scarf over your head so that the length of the scarf is around your ears and the scarf covers your eyes.
- 2). Roll the front of the scarf upward with one fold so that it no longer covers your eyes. Orthodox tradition states that your headscarf must cover your hair and ears completely.
- 3). Bring the ends of the scarf around the back of your head to tie them. Take an end of the scarf in each hand and cross one over the other to make an "X." Bring the ends up and tie in a knot.
- 4). Pull the ends of the headscarf tightly together so that it is secure on your head.
