When it comes to photography there are so many accessories you can own, however in my opinion none of them are as useful as a good tripod.
If you're into landscape photography then owning a tripod is a must.
If you don't know what tripod to get then don't worry, sit back and keep on reading because in this article I am going to tell you about all the good tripods available to fit your budget.
Money is no option - Gitzo GT3541 If spending $800 on a tripod alone doesn't sound good to you then I can see where your coming from, however as you may have found out in the past buying a good quality item always saves you money in the long run.
I currently own this model Gitzo and I absolutely love it.
When I spent the $800 on the tripod I thought to myself what have I done, however after constant use and abuse the Gitzo has matched what I wanted it to do every single time.
The reason why I love this tripod is that it's completely carbon fibre; you won't find any aluminum here.
The reason why carbon fibre is better is that it's lighter, stronger and vibrations are dampened going through it, this all leads to one thing, better image quality.
If your thinking of getting an aluminum tripod, don't.
I have absolutely battered this tripod, I've dropped it, banged it, scratched it and yet it still holds up like the day I first pulled it out of the box.
No doubt this tripod has saved me a lot of money and I'm highly glad I purchased it.
I can spend a bit but not too much - Manfrotto 055XPROB The Manfrotto 055xprob is an excellent tripod for those with around $200 to spend.
It's sturdy, reliable and affordable however it does have some problems.
The paint on the Manfrotto seems to come of quite easily, I'm not the most careful when it comes to looking after tripods but having used the Manfrotto on a few separate occasions I did manage to scratch quite a bit of paint off it, however this has nothing to do with the overall quality of the tripod being able to hold my DSLR camera in place.
Another small problem I have with the Manfrotto is that the centre Column is made of plastic, now this isn't that big of a problem but it will mean that you will have to be a little more careful to using this tripod so you don't crack this plastic.
Redeeming features for this tripod include:
I have no budget - Dolica AX620B100 If you're looking for a simple, affordable tripod that simply does the job then the Dolica ax620b100 is a suitable tripod.
The aluminum based tripod can hold up to 13lbs and is suitable for any beginner DSLR photographer.
Overall the tripod isn't going to match the tripods above however this tripod can be bought for under $40 so don't expect to match the Manfrotto or Gitzo.
It's simple, light and can be carried around all day without any problems.
There are some plastic parts on this tripod but they're not too cheap looking and can stand up to some moderate wear and tear.
If you're looking for a budget tripod don't look too much further than the Dolica AX620B100.
